Did you add fluid before you saw the leak? If so you overfilled it, I think this is what happened.
If it was leaking before you added any then the area where it is supported is cracked.
I would suggest that anyone who takes theirs out for any reason adds a large washer under the tank to spread the load a bit more evenly, I added silicone to mine as well.
It is a good idea to look at the reservoir as leaves and dirt from the area under the windshield drains there and mine had a lot of muck and little leaves there. I removed the reservoir and hosed it down. It would be a good spot for rust to start. At the time my car had about 21,000 miles on it, so it can build up fast.
