Listen to onehundred80, I had the problem with the transmission sticking in 2nd gear, the "Limp home" mode. I didn't have the issue of no acceleration, but replacing the electronic plate solved my problem and the car acted just like new again. As many others I don't recommend taking it to the dealership if it isn't a warranty job. I think it would be of your best interest to scan with an OBD2 and see what it throws before buying parts of paying for additional diagnostics/labor at the dealership.
