Why is this a poor choice for a first car? BTW, my daughter is consistently on the principal's honor roll, has many interests in and out of school including, fast pitch softball, archery, art and dance. She's quite the busy gal and I'm proud of her. I'm not stuck on the crossfire as her first car and will listen to reason and would replace it with another car if those reasons are compelling.
Go for it, at $9K it is a good choice. With no back seat it's safer too.
