DAS breaks down trouble codes. I'm just throwing numbers out there but say the manual states 300 codes, and you have an OBD that can read all 300, for the R170 chassis DAS can pull and display thousands. It's much more intricate and gives you pictures for troubleshooting as well as drive procedures, reset procedures, part numbers. You can change certain functions for the car...
Honestly if you own a Benz or a Crossfire IMO you need DAS. Screw OBD scanners, even the best on the market give you the run around considering they give you a basic understanding of the problem. It's like adult school vs harvard honestly.
Plus, if you get DAS and you ever need an ECU from me it makes the job a million times smoother
