All these Mercedes parts have a part number on them, use that number.

Some of those numbers come from models long forgotten but the first three numbers still reflect that model. The last numbers reflect changes and upgrades since the original model was new. The part may not fit or suit the original car now, which would require the original part number with any updates that pertained to the original car only.

Some parts have numbers that do not reflect any model and they are general assembly items. These start in 000 if I remember correctly.

The second three numbers show the parts group the part is in, suspension, transmission, etc. and will not have changed.
