So should I try to re-wire the harness or just take a closer look at the joints? I have a feeling it has to be the connection of one of the wires since when it gets "shaken" up it turns on!
I worked on a 2005 Ford explorer that had similar problems and it was the wire harness that bends when you open the door. Opening and closing the door over time broke the wires. Had to solder and shrink wrap the wires and stuff them back into the protective boot that shows when you open the door.
If it is not a loose connection then it could be the AMP in the radio on that side.
