Default Re: Mud Flaps

There is really no molded factory mud flaps for Crossfire like Mercedes offered for their SLK. Even though the ones for SLK looks like pig ears, not my cup of tea. So my SLK does not have mud flaps even I drive it daily.

Please note the ones claims that they are molded, they aren't being molded too well. I've tried some molded ones with the Crossfire and they look like crap. (plus wasted $50 bucks since I drilled into it)

I personally would not paint them. Nor I would recommend installing them as they will require some drilling through the panel. (one mistake, screwed.) I really wished I never done it. Now if you have to have them. Here's the thing:

The rear has 2 places that you can have 2 screws from factory, and you will have to drill the top 2 onto the painted surface. (plastic bumper)
The front will have only 1 from factory, and you will have to drill into rocker panel.
I had mine mounted very low on the rear, and not low enough for the front. I used the mud flaps for cars for the front, and ones for trucks for rear to cover the 255 width rear tires.

They don't look too bad, and in person they look even better. Here're the pictures

Hope it helps. And listen to +fireamx said, he got me good on the test of the effectiveness of the front mud flaps.
