I would certainly hope that you would not trade the car off because there is probably nothing major wrong. Checking that the hoses are connected and not leaking is pretty simple. If you had the TB off I would think the "O" ring at the TB/MAF is pinched or not installed correctly. You would probably do a" Throttle RESET",
also simple to do ( do a search). These cars are very durible and normally trouble free( we usually cause most of the problems).
