We can just assume that you either found out that you needed to, or you wanted performance or pads that created less dust, etc. I agree about our having good brakes to begin with. Sounds like you can go quite a while longer before needing brakes. But a good idea to completely flush the brake fluid every 2 or 3 years. It could be that yours has never been changed; how old is your car now? It's especially important to change and keep the moisture out when you have an expensive ABS system like we do. Personally, I check brakes and do a fluid flush every spring with the good stuff.
