Well you definitly don't need glasses to see the metallic paint in your photo, that's for sure.
I'd say a repaint.
I think a special order paint color would be more likely available from a maker's home office plant. Since the Crossfire was outsourced to Karmann, I think it would be less likely to have offered such an option. Just my opinion.
I would also think a 1st. year production model would make it even more unlikely.
Just take your car to any reputable paint/body shop and they'll be able to answer your question in minutes.
