Had a really interesting day!!!!! I was on my way to a car show when I was pulled over by a local gendarme. As he approached the car, I was getting my registration and license ready but he asked me to get out of the car. Then he asked if I knew that I was spewing fuel all over and suggested we move away from the car. Then the firetruck arrived!!!! As it turned out a trucker noticed that I was losing fuel and radioed the officer who then called for the ftruck and then waited for me to come by and pulled me over. Then he drove me to Autozone to see if I could borrow tools to do repair. Long story short, when I added the adjustable regulator, I used plastics ties but one of them broke and a fuel line drooped enough that when I hit bumps it would rub just a bit on the axle collar. It eventually wore through and I lost about 10 gals. of fuel in about 20 miles. As it turned out I called my brother who went to my house and picked up one of my jacks, a jack stand and a few tools and I repaired it in about 20 minutes so all is well but I missed the show. I will thank all those involved, the trucker if I can find out his name, the guys at Autozone who drove me back to the car and most of all, the officer. I could have been the main course at a BBQ, if not for these gentlemen. I hope next weeks' show goes better.
