I think it depends heavily on where you are located at and whether the car is garage kept or not. I'm in Florida and even though I try to park my car in the shade as much as possible, the sun and salt just gets to it! Since bodyshop painted those parts, the car looks like brand new again and I am very happy about that!
Now if I can only get this stupid door pull fixed, I'll be a happy man! That thing broke off a while back and I refuse to pay $300 for the thing! If you look at solutions for you door handle peeling (happens to a lot of people in here) there is information on how to get it wrapped, perhaps in nice Italian leather!
