Since the Cherohala Skyway is our favorite part, we will double back over it after eating lunch in Tellico Plains. We do need some suggestions for eateries that have parking for everyone.
On the way back, we can stop at Bald River Falls just outside of Tellico Plains for those that have not been there yet.
Cherokee National Forest - Bald River Falls It is worth stopping even if you have been before.
Also we plan to stop at the Joyce Kilmer National Forest before getting back to the lodge. It is two mile walk from the parking lot but sounds really interesting. More info here:

James, this sounds like a great trip and I would like to tag along if you don't mind. I actuallly worked with, and consider him a great friend, Joyce Kilmer's Grandson: Mathew (Red) Kilmer, who is an author in his own right, as are most of the members of his family. He has shared stories with me about how much his Grandmother loved the area and donated a large portion of the family property to make it a memorial forest. Red has given me "grief" several times for being so close and not visiting. He lives down here in Florida, in the Palm Coast area, and owns one "bad ***" heavily modified Dodge Charger SRT (red, of course). He and I attended the SRT Driving Experience together in Orlando several years back.
