The tires could have been worn out some. My Crossfire was almost unbearable with the road noise, new tires and it was just fine.
Some tires are much noisier than others when they have some wear.

It is not the quietest car at the best of times, if the noise gets worse with speed and disappears at a low speed then it could be the tires, that's how mine was anyway.
