I'll probably go ahead and do the outer while I've got it out. I live in AZ and anything rubber will dry all to hell out here. It will go bad eventually.
If you dont want to screw up the rear geometry it is easiest to drop the driveline at the flex disc, unbolt the diff with the car supported,3 bolts, remove the outer shaft nut after you get the shaft uncoupled from the diff. Lower the diff on a jack. Pop the shaft out of the diff by swinging it towards the opposite side of the vehicle. Replace the shaft and reverse the instructions. Dont forget to stack any front diff shims back the way they came before tightening. you will need a couple ramps and a floor jack or a lift and a high rise tranny jack, also a 30mm 12 point socket I believe.
