Recall issuance is based on vin#'s which are based on chassis production and reflect all bodies. Specifics on mechanical differences are encoded in the vin. As odd as it may seem there is no srt specific code and therefore no way to know that chassis is going to be one. For instance,when the copo Camaros left the assembly line the had regular vins on them and then were sent off to have their motor put in.

In other words, that's why we can't just look at the vin and tell how many srt6's were made.
