Re: Burp on shift: 6 speed manual
Since one of my frequent passengers has a neck injury I try to shift as smoothly as possible. Done properly I do not need a clutch once moving with a Jag or the Judge.
That said have had people say my shifting sounds like an automatic. Is part of the reason why the Crossfire has been so frustrating, no matter what I did 1-2 was just not smooth. Couple that with the fact that 2nd is lower than 1st in the GTO and usually I just started in 2nd. Heck I used to do that with the Sunbird and it had a 2.98:1 1st and 3.08 axle
Now it is still way too low but at least I am figuring out the 1-2 shift. First is stil one leap and is wound out but a fast shift barks the tires and the TC burps. If I were to autocross, starting in 2nd would be the way to go. If the TC hadn't proven its worth in rain, I would just disconnect it.
One thing I do not understand is why it feels reved out by 20-25, the gearing says 6 grand should be about 32 but is not how it feels.
