I discovered my Varta battery had fill holes! Imagine my surprise after 20+ years of my cars using fully sealed batteries. So, it was rather nostalgic to remove the caps and see that the water was kissing the tops of the cells (way low). So now it's nicely topped up between min and max fill with distilled water. Also filled the windshield washer fluid since the filler is right next door to the battery.
I probably check the fluid levels in the Varta battery every six months or so (yes, I still have the original battery in the car!). I also put a charger on the battery every 9 months or so. Probably only put 3-4k on the ODO each year. Car is really a "weekender" for us, so it's not driven much. Last time I looked, had only about 16k on the ODO.
