Probably the seal gone in the bearing, I have no pictures of that area though except this one I got from someone on the forum.
If it is the seal on the bearing then the bearing could be replaced, if it is a separate seal then you can replace the seal. If it is a bearing with two seals, one each side, then you could in a pinch reverse the bearing and hope the seal on the other side is OK.
