Re: Is this the CORRECT Rear Wheel Bearing?
i have a question on this one. Can i use the Mercedes slk 320 bearing kit?? will i need it? or just the bearing is fine. will the bearing fit the crossfire or should i look into the crossfire rear bearing only. My rear bearing on passenger side has a little play on it.
I know for the front bearings it is better to get the whole bearing kit because of the seals, bearings, and the expensive non reversible nut that tightens the whole bearing together. Chrysler charged me 32 dollars for the nut, instead if you go to a Mercedes Benz dealer and ask for the front wheel bearing kit for the Mercedes slk 320 you will get the bearings, seals, the nut, and the little cover that goes in front of everything for 50 dollars.
I don't deal with Chrysler dealers, they just get their parts from Mercedes and bump their prices....
Chrysler is asking for 230 dollars for the rear bearing????????? can you believe this. when you can easily get a perfect timken rear wheel bearing for 60 to 70 dollars.......and if your smart you go to autohausaz.com and search for the mercedes slk 320 you will find the whole rear bearing kit for 60 bucks!!!!!!!!!!! that's why i ask if that one will work or just get a plain timken bearing on auto parts for 60 dollars as well...
any feedback, advice, opinions, experiences, will help the forum and my self included..
