I was about to pull over when finally they came back. What happened was the drivers side rear brake pads fell out. The pin that held them in either broke or slid out and then the pads fell out too. Once the piston extended enough to touch the rotor the brakes came back. Obviously you don't want to drive it like that so I would check to make sure that didn't happen to you. Now I check to make sure the pin is in good condition once every few weeks or before a long trip. Going 80 with no brakes into traffic is very scary lol.
