When I was growing up my father had a Karmann Ghia 'vert that had the easiest top to put up or down I had seen until a Fiat 124 Spyder (at the time most of my cars had erector sets).
So to each their own. I really like my XF but had no compulsion against using a SawZall to make it fit me better. Except for the engine being in the wrong end it is better in nearly every way than my Fieros.
Fiero, i have a couple myslef, one must remember the fiero is built with off the shelf parts, very little of it was designed for performance (well till the last year, which is to bad), chevette parts on the front, etc.. but as a Fiero guy I'm sure you know all that. I picked my first one up as I wanted a Vette , but figured i would never have the scratch to have one, cheap replacement. Grew to love those cars and soon had a 3800 SC in one, now I was faster then many vettes with some tweaking (of course some tweaking the vettes would change all that), no the suspension wasn't a match, but that car was FUN. I now have a Vette, the fieros are all parked and maybe get started and drove 1X a year. I sure dont understand the throwaway part. I wish i could remember where, but there was a car mag that had the 10 best bets for collector cars on it, Xfire was one.. and I agree. I would say my X-fire is right at the top of my "fun" cars
Vette- no substitute for Torque, that raw grunt with a manual is unreal
X-fire- love the steady power, its almost sneaky in how it feels, deceptive in what its doing when you step on it.
Fiero 3800SC- my fastest car, but also the rawest ins some ways
I go back and forth, but since the X is the newest its getting the most love atm. Wont be a throwaway for me.Have him throw some my way, 2 wouldn't bother me
