I checked out this SRT6 today. It needs ALOT of TLC and many replacement parts . . . I forgot to bring my camera but took some photos with my phone. Will try to download them into my computer so I can post them here tomorrow . . .
Basic problems . . .
1) Needs tires
2) Wheels are good but the clearcoat is badly deteriorated so wheels need to be refinished.
3) Someone who didn't seem to know what they were doing tried to do a lot of electrical work
a) The covers are missing from both the right and left side electrical boxes under the hood. No telling what's been tampered with inside there.
b) The central locking control module has been moved up into the area just below the trunk cover flap (not down in the well area below the styrofoam piece where it belongs) and wiring has been spliced. Wiring to the module is a jumbled mess with some OEM connectors missing completely. Nothing that is controlled by that central locking module works . . . No interior lights, no glove box light, no power door locks, no alarm etc. In my experienced opinion this might be the most significant problem with the car.
4) Many of the interior trim pieces in the rear area are broken, missing, and or just hanging (not attached properly). Headliner sagging and needs to be replaced.
5) Center stack needs to come out and lower section needs to be refurbished (ash tray does not work at all).
6) Overspray on the passenger door handle evidences that the door was sloppily repainted at some time in the past. Scratch and minor dent in the left rear quarter panel.
7) Right front inner fender is broken and needs to be replaced.
Good points . . .
The car starts right up and runs good. Lots of power and the transmission shifts nicely. Brakes are smooth and seemed good. Seats are in nice shape especially for a car with just over 100,000 miles.
