I too had the skreem module fail in my 2007 base coupe. Had it towed to dealer, they quoted less than your quote but then the warranty I purchased did cover the repair except for the $100 per repair. I did some research and was told that the original Skreem had to be returned to Chrysler in order for a new skreem to be returned and programed. I found one dealer parts dept. who had a skreem on his shelf, never picked up from whomever ordered it when they told me that they are specific to each CF, programming required. Otherwise he would have been glad to sell it. It's unnerving to read about this skreem module that seems to fail often. When it does, you are stuck wherever you are. For the 1.5 years + I have owned my CF, I've now had 3 warranty repairs and just replaced the (original) battery. I'm not feeling real confident with the reliability of the CF. Though, it is a fun car to drive.
