Welcome to the PERMAGRIN Club I think you will find your crossfire to be most reliable. Most of the potential problems can be resolved by a DIYer with basic mechanical skills. I have not heard of any hot weather issues to speak of. Most problems come from high humidity. Search "common problems" and read of the most common issues. I bought mine in 2006 with 5K miles and have had only one problem. I had a minor oil leak.
