If the IAT sensor senses the inlet air temperature is too hot then the SC will not be allowed to work, simple stuff right?

If the IAT sensor is faulty in some manner and is giving no signal or a high temperature signal, is disconnected or whatever is it possible that the default in that scenario is to stop the SC from working to prevent possible damage?


Could a faulty or disconnected MAP sensor also cause these problems?
