Re: CAI with factory engine cover
It's hard to imagine that a few guys in a shop that like HP can out engineer the guys at MB. The car does come stock with Cold air system and it's obvious that the NW single and double together with the TB upgrade are making provisions for more air. Typically, Forced Induction engines are easily boosted and are restricted by either air or fuel. On NA engines, cold air tends to help create horsepower easily because there is no SC or Turbo heating the air on it's way to the manifold. This is where the inter-cooler comes in! The NA cars have no additional cooler so engineers search for ways to get the coldest air to the manifold possible. I believe that NW has found the most cost effective way to bring the coldest air to the N/A cars while also allowing for more air as well to the SC cars. Every NW intake looks like jewelry under the hood making the intake both system functional, and aesthetically pleasing.
A large number of intake kits actually hinder performance on cars so we are lucky we have a company that provides intakes that do not rob our cars of performance.
