Correct, those are not hub centric. You can go about 3mm and the axle hub will still center but over that and you need a lip. It is more expensive with the lip as you need a wider billet to start.
Without a lip yu are taking a chance on vibration. They might work or might not.
You also need to make sure the lip/recess is the right diameter as different mfrs use different diameters (but most for passenger cars are between 60 and 75 mm). XF is 66.56mm
