Re: Drivers Seat Question
Then find another shop. There is one "horizonal' motor. Look at the section starting on page 8N-95 of the 2005 Service manual (downloadable here). Horizontal motor is on page 8N-101 & 102. The second motor next to it is the Front Riser motor.
The Limited driver's seat assembly has four motors: horizontal, front riser, rear riser, and recline. The horizontal and front riser are next to each other and may be the confusion but each motor is two way. With one polarity it goes one and reversed polarity the other. If it moves at all, the motor and wire from the switch are good and the switch may well be bad (I use a jump box on the connector to test).
Switches often fail, motors rarely though the linkage sometimes gets bound up.
ps, if it were me I'd contact one of the people with parts for sale and ask about a whole limited driver's seat base with switches and motors. Off the seat it is heavy but shipable. Or contact the local yards and ask about a whole seat.
Working on one is much easier with the seat out of the car. If it won't go back then the front bolts can be hard to remove. Best to raise the seat all the way up for access. AFAIR it takes an "E" socket but a 3/8" may work.
