One issue was that arounf 2006 somebody at Chrysler had the bright idea of making computerized service manuals modular. A good idea since may cars use the same drivetrain. A bad one since the format chosen was Adobe scaled vector graphics (.SVG). The problem is that Adobe stopped supporting SVG in 2011.
The second issue is that according to TA "Description: This CD in NOT compatible with MAC operating systems. Only Windows operating systems and Internet Explorer are supported. "
In fact when the CD for my GC came out it only worked with IE 6 and 8. Fagedabout Windows 8 or later. I worked with some people at Bosch to "fix" it since I keep service manuals for all of my vehicles on a tablet.
The third problem is that both the CDs for my '12 GC and the '07 XF have over 10,000 files in each, not one convenient .pdf like the '05 SM. This makes a global search difficult.
So for most of my work on the Crossie I use the '05 manual and only go to the '07 if I run into something odd (like the knee air bags).
Now the '07 XF CD is NLA from Tech Authority, they only have the $300+ (inc S&H) print manual. Does the forum have a way to request permission from Chrysler to post NLA manuals ? (I am on a GM forum that did.)
