I've used the double sided tape for other applications and found the 3M brand to be superior. In addition surface prep is essential, I typically use rubbing alcohol and try not to get any oils from my fingers on any of the surfaces or the tape. Once stuck it's pretty hard to remove without a lot of excessive heat.
