Re: speed limiter
The fastest Ive ever gone is 143 mph in my Crossie. It was on a warm sunny stretch of I-57 somewhere between Bradley and Peotone IL. I was crusing @70 mph on my way home from work. I had this Chevy Malibu a-hole who would not get off my rear. She was so close I thought she was in the trunk. I didnt know if she was taking pictures of my *** or what. I change lanes to let her pass and she would change lanes with me. This went on for about 5 minutes too long. When the coast was clear, I let my foot down and after a milisecond or 2 the Crossfire took off!! That a-hole quickly became a speck in my rear view.
Once I reached about 90, the car seem to breathe a sigh of relief. The engine wasnt screaming any more, more like roaring. The rpms slowed a bit but the speedometer kept creeping up to 100 - then 120 - 130. When she reached about 143 I took my feet off the accellerator and let her find her way back to its original cruise control setting of 70. About 10-15 minutes later...Lil Miss Chevy Malibu and crew caught up to me with their I-phone pointed at me. I didnt know we were in a photo shoot. We nodded our approval as I let her pass. Every window in her Malibu had a face pinned to it. They went on their merry way...to annoy other fellow travelors.
Id never forget the experience. The car acted as if it wanted to do more. She handled so well that i didnt get nervous until after I slowed back down. As Road Warrior Hawk of WCW fame would say...OOOOOOOOOH, WHAT A RUUUUUUUUUUUUSH!!!
