Old US -71 north of Fort Smith is a stunning drive. Most of it still exists and I have taken it instead of the Interstate on purpose. Takes longer but worth it if one has the time.
I agree. I much prefer the US-71 route over the interstate route shown on the pig-trail map. Who's in a hurry?
