Default Warranty con/scam operation.

I just got a letter stating that my warranty "is about to expire or has expired". The sender, Continental Warranty, North Hollywood, CA, then went on to explain how I could extend my warranty, etc, etc, etc.

Since my wife's Crossfire was purchased new in Nov. 2004 and only has 9,800 miles on it, I know that the factory warranty is still in effect and still has quite a few months/miles left before it expires. I called Continental and spoke to a supervisor, who admitted that her company has no affiliation with DC. The company obtains information from various sources and then sends out information to Crossfire owners. I demanded that my name be removed from their system.

Needless to say, I will not be buying an extended warranty from this company. I wonder how many people have fallen for this con/scam operation.
