Looking for input on this ...

I'm seeking to acquire a Valentine V1 for my XF Coupe. Yes - I am sold on the brand and no, I wouldn't put anything else in my XF. The questions I have for the group are:

• Has anyone attempted to permanently mount a V1 or other similar radar detectors in their XFs?
• What problems have you come across while attempting to hardwire your unit?
• Suggestions on best placement (aside from the given) - in relation to ease of wiring.
