You sure it's the clutch? As far as the motor running without the SC, it's basically what happens when your IC pump goes out. If the IC pump hasn't been replaced, I would start there. You can get the updated 010 BOSCH IC pump from fcpeuro.com for around $115 with a warranty. The clutch failing means a new SC....and that will be way more than $1,700 at a dealership. More like $4,000 for the SC alone. I know, just had one replaced last year under warranty.
The dealership ran all diagnostics and said it was just the clutch pack that is gong out. They said the pump is fine. I have the parts quote sheet and eveything.
