Might sound that way to someone that hasn't had to replace one. There's a lot that can go wrong with the removal/reinstall if you don't know what you're working with. The process requires a special sealant and proprietary caulking gun from M-B, new gaskets on a bunch of surfaces, and knowledge of the engine (which they obviously don't have). All the issues can be solved with a $106 pump and 45 minutes of your time.
