The best way to get a wrecked car for less is to hold out for personal injuries that you may have suffered as a result of a crash that was totally the fault of somebody else. Insurance companies want to close the file ASAP so throwing in a wreck is small potatoes to seal a deal for them. They want to close while spending the least amount of money. I am definitely not saying you should rip them off, but just be as business like as they are to you. They want to pay at least as possible and you want a fair settlement.
Let's face it, you may be on your deathbed but to them you are a just another potential open ended drain on profit.
