The OEM pulley should be shimmed so that there is .012 to .016 gap between the clutch plate and the SC drive plate. I would guess .012 to .020 should be OK though. The clutch plate should pull back under spring pressure to sit on the stops behind the pulley.
ok so with all the shims (3 old and 1 new) i have a varying gap, anywhere from .010 to .022 how can this be? when i turn the pulley on the shaft the gap varies, am i doing something wrong? or is that because of the spring in the pulley?
