I wrapped my NW intake pipes but not with DEI product. I used foam pipe insulation, doesn't stick when hot nor discolor the piping. Yes it is designed to keep temps in and that is what I wanted, the cool air from the filters in front of the radiator, kept cool and not picking up the heat from the piping itself which will become just about too hot to touch without some kind of insulation.
