The confusion most folks have is that on many paint websites, the colors are matched up. Both colors are listed as color code PDR. However, the correct code for Machine Gray is PDR/184 (Chrysler states the Sales Code is P17. I've a letter from them back when I bought my coupe.) Graphite Gray as PDR/759. The tint mix separates the two colors.
I've got another Daimler-Chrysler reference that says the Machine Gray Crystal Pearl Coat color code is DDR. And that Daimler-Chrysler refrence says Graphic Metallic Clear Coat is ZDR. But I never find this on any of the typical touchup color websites. This would really separate the two colors.
I got into this with the folks at Dr Colorchip a few years back. Sales guy said there wasn't any difference in the colors; only a name change. Told him he was FoS!
