The chassis number will turn 'em off in a heart beat. You'd have to try that with the engine number. When I get mine this weekend I'll grab the engine number and try going through my SPOM to see what happens.

The engine plate would be correct with AMG - Affalterbach, Germany on it. The rest of the car is from Karmann but the heart came from AMG.

As for the response from AMG on the chassis number, that all goes right back to Chrysler being a step-brother of Mercedes. Our vehicles simply don't have the three pointed star.
These are not, nor will they ever be, AMG vehicles. We're kinda stuck in the middle as eternal stepchildren.
