Default Re: what are the size specs on the door speakers?

Ok, here's my opinion of the crossfire sound system. All you need is a good head unit, subs, components in the doors, and amps. The cabin of the car is so small that rear speakers are not really needed. Audiophile systems are only 2 channel anyway. in an automotive environment, the rear speakers provide rear fill-in and more bass response. I only have component speakers in the doors and the system sounds perfect. I would split up your funds like so: Alpine CDA-9857 deck ($350), Focal 165KF components ($600), two JL12w3v3d4's ($240 ea.), JL 500/1 Sub amp ($550), JL 300/2 - 2 ch. amp ($430). That all totals to $2,320, at full retail, and you have room for installation materials, such as cables. this in my opinion would be the ideal system for your budget. Depending on your bass needs, I would consider using a single 10W7. This will give you less bass then 2 12's, but tighter, deeper, more accurate bass. Also, do you have a coupe or convertible?
