Default Re: Altenator

I still wouldnt trust one from Advance. I had a bad experience with a alternator I bought for my 93 LT1 camaro from O'Reiliy that was a lemon. It would work on and off. So it kept killing my battery which was a red top optima.

Anyway, they didnt want to take the thing back since I put it on saying it was something else wrong my car . After I got them to test it 3 time straight back to back to back on the testing machine it failed. I got my money back, spent $20 on a junkyard one from ebay out a wrecked camaro and it worked fine. Even after I sold the car it is still working fine, I know the guy that brought it.

So with that in mind, here is a OEM alternator from a wrecked srt-6 for $70.
