There is a plastic cone shaped nut under the leather boot - unscrew this - once it is off the threads of the gear know pull up on the **** - its been on there for a while so it may take a bit of upward force, but don't worry about breaking anything. Let me know how you made out getting it off.

Does anybody know how to remove the gearshift manual ****? The only thing I can find is on you tube where the guy just put it in neutral and pulled on it. I tried pulling but I don't want to pull to hard and break something. Any body with knowledge of this procedure. Thanks for the info.
