OK, another update. The above did not cure the problem. Now we're going to look for a chafed, or mouse chewed wire. Failing that I'm sending off the TCM to have it checked out, and repaired. This is getting old.
Boy do I feel your pain. I am somewhat in the same spot as you are. So far I have changed out the external connecter, it was leaking and quite wet from fluid. The car has been OK to a point so far. I did have a couple of HARD shifts and one very minor limp mode. Did not need to restart. I plan on a wait and see approach for the time being. I do have a new Conductor Plate ready to be put in. (next step) Time will tell. What bothers me is this car only has 36,500+ miles on it. I did check codes again and had a P0715 pending. It did reset. Like I said, time will tell.
