I honestly feel the same way. I bought mine off an eBay auction last February. Every time I have it out, or sitting at a stoplight, I notice others pointing at the XF. I rarely seen other Crossfires, and only recall ever seeing two other SRT's XF's on the road, probably 4 or 5 years ago. So the raritie of this vehicle is pretty cool!
My wife and I take what I call "driving vacations". We've gone to upstate NY, Saratoga Springs, Lake Placid, Lake George, over to Pittsburgh, Pa. to the Vintage Grandprix and down south to Alabama in the SRT6. By the way we did make a point to travel the infamous "Tail of the Dragon. In the almost 6 years I've owned the car, I've never been in the presence of another SRT Crossfire or seen one on the road.
Give it some time. Collectors will want one in their collections. Once an SRT6 goes across the auction block and sells for decent money, it will peak curiosity. When the masses learn the numbers produced, the performance, the lineage and the business history between Daimler & Chrysler, supply and demand will come into play.
They may not reach epic $$, but we'll get back every dime at least.
This is my opinion. I really enjoy owning this car. It is one of my all time favorites to date.
