I had two potential buyers back out of thier firm offers on my car only due to what I had paid for it which the previous owner was surprisingly aggressively eager to share. No problems with the car. I would have paid more, it was worth it, but that was all the PO wanted.

So yes, keep the price to yourself.

With a good price paid it allows you a margin for those add ons or repairs while still keeping your find within its value range. Cigarette smell can be a challenge. I have never found a way to get rid of it. The local MINI dealer claims to have and sure cleared it out of one stinkie car I considered but he would not share the secret.
