LOL. JP its the first time you've heard that?
Listen straight line performance is great, but its such a one dimensional aspect of what makes a car fun to drive. And when I say back roads I don't mean dirt roads in Kentucky. I have spanked much higher horsepower cars just on route 8 in CT. Driving at the limit of the car and learning how your machine handles and behaves at those limits is driving. Going in a straight line with the pedal mashed a MONKEY could do and take ZERO skill on the part of the driver for the most part.
But when I take a car with 208 hp like my Porsche and utterly destroy a 300 hp mustang going up route 8 by exit 22 that is satisfying. To see him hit his brakes because he knows for a fact that if he tried to do what I am doing he will crash is satisfying.
Ricer? LOL ridiculous. Road racing and learning how to corner and use your machine is where its at. straight line acceleration is great for adrenaline junkies and its fine to say its fun. But comparing someone mashing the pedal and going in a straight line to somebody who actually learns how to drive and take advantage of how his machine handles is laughable to me.
