Also check the battery connection, a badly clamped cable cannot complete the circuit as it will just spark.
I forgot to tighten the clamp screw and it started at home but not in the plaza parking lot no click, nothing, fortunately I found my error pretty quick.
I discovered this a few years ago
Intermittently my car would not start and a few times even stopped running momentarily
After a few of these episodes I discovered it was a slightly loose positive battery cable connection
I discovered this myself and tightened the crap out of it and never had the problem occur again since
